Published on March 7, 2024 – ASCoR, the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Marking this anniversary, ASCoR has released an open access book, titled “Communication Research into the Digital Society: Fundamental Insights from the Amsterdam School of Communication Research”. The book describes the major research directions pursued over the years by ASCoR researchers and outlines future visions for the field of communication research, with a focus on the impact of media and communication on people, organizations, and societies in the digital era.
One of the book chapters focuses on the topic of health communication in a digital society, titled “Tailored Health Communication in a Digital World.” Authored by ACHC members Eline Smit, Julia van Weert, Annemiek Linn, Minh Hao Nguyen, Melanie de Looper, and Adriana Solovei, this chapter delves into research about the tailoring of health messages as a health communication strategy. The chapter discusses various methodologies of health message tailoring, emphasizes the effectiveness of tailored health messages in improving health outcomes and explores future innovations in health communication, especially in light of technological advancements.
