Research: My PhD project is situated within the larger NWO-funded project ‘Look Who’s talking’ in which the goal is to develop conversational agents that encourage users to engage in healthier lifestyles through engaging, long-term interactions. In my PhD project, an engaging chatbot-based solution will be explored as a persuasive health technology that encourages safe-sex behaviour and promotes overall sexual health. The target populations currently being considered are young couples in a new relationship as well as couples in which one of the partners uses PrEP. In collaboration with two other PhD candidates, the chatbot will be designed and evaluated based on outcomes associated with both health persuasion and user experience.
Specialties: User experience, conversational agents, eHealth, mHealth, health persuasion technologies, personalization
