Published on September 19 2017 – Minh Hao Nguyen, one of our PhD candidates, received a travel grant of € 3.000 as part of the UvA385 ‘Lustrumbeurs’. Hao was one of the 22 recipients of a UvA lustrum grant, out of 94 candidates. The UvA lustrum grant was designed to offer the new generation of young scholars the opportunity to gain international experience. Hao is currently in her final year of her PhD training and will use the travel grant to work with Professor Nancy Harrington at the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky. Her research aims to investigate how tailored communication using computer technology can be used as a means to improve healthcare experiences of patients diagnosed with cancer.
