Multiple awards for ACHC researchers during ICA 2017

Published on June 6 2017 – ACHC researchers won several awards at the conference of the International Communication Association (ICA) 2017 in San Diego. Corine Meppelink won the Abby Prestin Dissertation of the Year Award from the Health Communication divisions of the ICA and the National Communication Association (NCA) for her dissertation entitled “Designing Digital Health Information in a Health Literacy Context”. From the same divisions, Remco Sanders received the Amanda L. Kundrat Thesis of the Year Award for his master thesis “Consulting the Internet before a Consultation”. In addition, Nadine Bol and Julia van Weert, together with Camella Rising from the George Mason University in Fairfax, US, received a Top Paper award in Health Communication for their paper “Perceived Emotional and Informational Support for Cancer: Patients’ Perspectives About Interpersonal versus Media Sources”.
