Interests: I am interested in social influence processes in relation to both basic and applied issues. My projects included studies on the impersonal impact of mass media and the moderating role of interpersonal communication for mass media effects. My applied projects focussed on priming in advertising, the effects of media images on body images, visual rhetoric and narrative persuasion. I am (co-)author of journal articles and book chapters, on topics including social support, teleconferencing, priming, impersonal impact, and order in the classroom.
My research activities are now related to the supervision of bachelor and master theses. In the bachelor the common theme is obesitas in relation to both advertising and public health communication. In the master my focus is on automatic process and unconscious thought in social influence.
