Lifestyle Communication

In this research area, we study the effects of health communication on health-related lifestyle changes.

Epidemiological and medical research shows that life-style has a significant effect on the quality of life and life expectancy by influencing, for example, the risk for diseases such as coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and various cancer types. We study how persuasive communication can help people change unhealthy behaviours or maintain healthy behaviours in fields such as substance use (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, drugs), exercising, eating, sexual behavior, etc.
